Mortgages in Bulgaria
Mortgages on properties in Bulgaria have become more easier to obtain within the last few years and is becoming a popular country for home purchases.
Mortgages are available for the purchase of completed residential property only in Bulgaria, with a maximum lending facility on all types of property being 70% of the purchase price or valuation, whichever is lower. Most lenders insist on a minimum loan advance of Euro 40.000 with a mortgage loan term of between 5 and 15 years. Loans on properties are only available on a capital and repayment basis and all mortgages are based on income verification, therefore proof of income and outgoings are required for all cases and non status loans are not available. Some Mortgage lenders may take into consideration rental income from the property when assessing income.
